OrvyxCommunity

Code of conduct

The Orvyx community exists so that people who publish content for a living can share workflows, ask questions and get useful answers. That only works if everyone can take part without being made to feel unwelcome. This document states what that means in practice.

Expected behaviour

  • Be patient with questions. Someone asking how review states work is doing exactly what this community is for, regardless of how basic the question looks to you.
  • Be specific and honest. Describe what you actually ran and what actually happened, including when a workflow failed. Honest failure reports are the most useful thing shared here.
  • Critique content and workflows, not people. Disagreement about an approach is expected; remarks about a person’s competence, background or identity are not part of any disagreement.
  • Respect confidences. Screenshots, customer names and internal details shared by others stay in the context they were shared in unless the author says otherwise.
  • Disclose affiliation. If you work for a vendor or on a competing product, say so when you recommend it. Undisclosed promotion is treated as spam.

Unacceptable behaviour

  • Harassment, insults, or sustained personal attacks against anyone.
  • Discriminatory language or content targeting race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or nationality.
  • Deliberate misinformation — sharing workflows, numbers or product behaviour you know to be wrong.
  • Publishing another member’s content, screenshots or details outside the community without their consent.
  • Spam, undisclosed advertising, and repeatedly pushing unrelated products into conversations.

Reporting

If you experience or witness a violation, report it. You do not need to be sure it is a violation, and you do not need to confront the person first.

How reports are handled

Reports go to the maintainers through the support centre at support.orvyx.io/contact. Include what happened, where, and any links or screenshots you have; you may remain anonymous, but leaving a contact lets us follow up. Reports are reviewed by the maintainers, and moderation actions are enforced in the community spaces themselves — not in the product or in your account.

All reports are kept confidential to the people handling them. We will acknowledge a report, investigate, and tell you what action was taken.

Scope

This code applies in every Orvyx community space: the events and their calls, the showcase and its submissions, the community chat when an invite is configured, and any official Orvyx channel. It also applies when you are representing the community elsewhere — for example, when speaking about Orvyx at another event as a community member.

Enforcement ladder

Moderators apply the lightest response that resolves the situation, and escalate only if the behaviour continues. The steps are:

  1. Correction. A private, direct explanation of the violation and what is expected instead.
  2. Warning. A formal warning for continued or repeated behaviour. This is recorded against the account.
  3. Temporary removal. A suspension from community spaces for a defined period. The member is told what was done and why.
  4. Permanent ban. Reserved for severe violations — harassment, doxxing, or repeated behaviour after warnings.

A moderator who is personally involved in a report does not decide its outcome. Decisions made under this ladder can be appealed through the same support contact by replying to the decision.

Attribution

This code was written for Orvyx, taking structure and spirit from the Contributor Covenant, the most widely used code of conduct for open-source communities. It is adapted, not copied; any mismatch between the two is resolved in favour of this page.
